I can’t hear the guide — what should I check?
- Verify your device’s volume is turned up and the silent switch is off.
- Check the audio output device in your phone’s settings (Speaker, Bluetooth, or Headphones).
- Try reconnecting to the stream by re-entering the code.
The stream code doesn’t work.
Double-check you have entered the 6-digit code correctly. Confirm with your tour guide that the code is correct and the tour stream is currently active. A stable internet connection is required.
The tour guide cannot open or start the stream.
- Verify that the stream code is correct and active.
- Ensure the tour is within its scheduled time window.
- Confirm stable internet connection.
If the problem continues, please contact your tour operator. Stream activation and permissions are managed by the organizing travel company.
My request to join is pending.
Some tours require the guide to manually approve each participant. Please remain on the joining screen until the guide approves your request. If it takes too long, check with your guide directly.
Audio is choppy or delayed.
This is usually caused by a poor network connection.
- Move to a location with a stronger signal (Wi-Fi, 5G, or 4G).
- Disconnect from any VPN and close other apps that might be using a lot of bandwidth (like video streaming).
Translation isn’t working.
Live translation is an optional feature that must be enabled by the tour operator for each specific tour. If it is unavailable, you will still hear the guide’s original audio. Also, verify you have selected a target language in the app.
Bluetooth headphones are connected but sound comes from the phone speaker.
Open the iOS Control Center and manually select your Bluetooth headphones as the audio output.
Sometimes you may need to disconnect and reconnect your headphones.
The app stops playing when the screen locks.
Ensure that Low Power Mode on your iPhone is turned off, as it can restrict background app activities.
Also, check your device settings to ensure Audiowhispers has permission for background app refresh.
